Benefit For Bradley Scott
Dear Friends and Family,
As most of you know Bradley, who is 22 years old, was involved in a motor vehicle collision on December 8, 2007, and is now paralyzed from the waist down.
He was driving alone near St. Dominic, dozed at the wheel, and hit a highway pole. He was thrown out the back windshield of his car . After over 5 weeks in the hospital where he under went back surgery to stabilize his spine and suffered respiratory failure twice, he finally came home on January 18, 2008. Bradley is now receiving therapy through St. Dominic Outpatient Rehab.
Since the wreck, Bradley's world has been turned upside down and he is no longer able to work or be involved in the activities he once enjoyed. He now lives at home.
With therapy, Bradley has gotten stronger and is adjusting to the difficult transition of life in a wheelchair. BUT he doesn't want to live the rest of his life in a wheelchair. He wants to walk again.
His therapist would like him to continue to work his muscles and exercise for his health so he does not lose what he has gained and have encouraged us to supplement his rehab by joining a health club that has an indoor swimming pool.
Bradley feels more comfortable in his wheelchair going to the gym and pool at St. Dominic where he has been receiving therapy. The staff there have offered him a reduced membership fee of $360.00.
At the time of his accident he did not have health insurance and is dependent on Mississippi Medicaid. Mom is no longer working so that she can be available to help at home with Bradley to take him to doctor appointments and his physical therapy.
With all the medical bills and the additional financial burden of Bradley's heath care needs, the money for extras like a gym membership is beyond our grasp, so I am giving Bradley's family and friends an opportunity to help him get the additional therapy he needs by donating to Bradley's "Gym Membership Fund". Anything you can donate will go directly to his gym membership and will be greatly appreciated.
Over the months, many of you have asked if there was anything you could do, and helping Bradley get this membership would be one way to greatly improve his health and his quality of life. Again anything you could donate would be appreciated.
Contributions can be mailed directly to:

It has been very hard to watch my son go through this says his mom and my heart is still broken because I cannot fix him. This gym membership is one way to help Bradley have an opportunity for better health and quality of life.
We ask for your continued prayers and thank you for your support and concern.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Sincerely,
Monica Scott (Bradley's Mother)

Update ...
With donations we have recently received from family and friends Bradley now has a 1 year membership
at the gym. Thank you so much for those who donated.
For those who would like to make contributions and additional donations to Bradley's medical care I have opened a "Benefit For Bradley Scott Fund" at Citizens National Bank. This money will be used for anything his physician's feel will benefit Bradley's continued care and progress. I am presently researching information on Electric Nerve Stimulation and what we can do to use this for Bradley's progress.
