Anxiety

Do any of you who has lost a significant amount of weight feel any anxiety about re-gaining weight? I've had a hankoring for peanut butter lately and because of it, I'm running about 5 pounds heavier the last week than normal. Well, that five pounds might as well be all 315 for me. Anyone else struggle with this?

I just talked with the three other guys in my workout group who also follow the Zone Diet. They all three made mention of cravings for peanut butter, with one of the guys saying, "Peanut butter is like crack for me."

Maybe its a workout/diet thing.

Quaker Rice Cake (snack bags) they have a peanut butter flavor one they are only 90 calories per baggie... but don't eat the whole box you have to remember everything in moderation! Eat a baggie a night for a week or keep them for a special reward..... I also let myself have a (one) peanut butter cookie a week from Heavenly Ham ..... That is a reward for being good and staying on track all week........... I crave peanut butter too must be a diet thing ------ never really did before!

Peanut butter isn't all bad as long as you eat it in moderation. Just posted another thread on this:

I have alot of anxiety about gaining weight ---- I have recently gone from 93 lbs to 98 lbs and am really FREAKING out! I don't EVER want to ever see 100 lbs again... to me that is the target weight not to go over ever again! I have alot of eating anxiety and guilt when I let myself cheat on the weekends but being that I am food addictive I still eat the food! So it is a eat, beat myself up cycle LOL! But I do try to make up for the weekends on the week days LOL.... I never EVER EVER want to be where I was at the beginning of my journey! So I guess what I am saying healthy or not I think it is normal to have some anxiety about your weight .... (possibly in a way it is healthy ---- and just God's way to keep you on the straight and narrow so to speak).....

I struggle with anxiety, too, about regaining weight. But I have found that if I stick to my regimen of eating right and exercising, I can usually keep my weight within a five-pound range.

If you really like peanut butter, maybe you can find healthy, low-calorie substitutes that include peanut butter. For instance, some granola bars are made with peanut butter.

Or instead of buying regular peanut butter, try low-fat peanut butter.

Of course, it matters, too, what you're eating with the peanut butter. If you're simply eating peanut butter off a spoon, that's one thing, but if you're eating peanut butter on top of graham crackers, obviously that adds to the calories, too.

One of the keys to controlling weight is to turn cravings from our enemies into our friends: Find healthy, low-calorie stuff you really like to eat, and then it's OK if you indulge from time to time.
